Well i'm 17…and i got my AS results back last week..and i didn't do so well… I got; A in Psychology, C in Sociology, D in chemistry and D in biology… My parents aren't happy (because they are the stereotypical asian parents which believe if i haven't got A's i have failed) and they want me to leave college and find a job.. At GCSE i got 6A, 3B and 1C… I was just wondering what possible careers could i possibly go for? What is the best i can achieve in life? And please…no one say, work in Asda or Mcdonalds etc. because i hear it all the time from my parents..(yes i know they aren't nice)
First of all, ignore your parents.. haha.. they aren't very helpful. You're obviously good at Psychology, so some good jobs include: Counseling, Clinical Psychologists, School Psychologists, Industrial-Organizational Psychologists, Developmental Psychologists, Social Psychologists, Research/Experimental Psychologists… and many more. Those jobs probably don't make sense, But I will give you a web site in the source's box and it will explain them all. If you don't think Psychology is for you, then start a year of college taking the required classes and see what fits you best.. there are a lot of helpful people at the college that will help you choose your career path. I assure you that you will know eventually what you want to do.. you don't really need to know what you're going to do until the second year of college.
Hope this helped!

In a paper I am writing I am discussing my summer vacation and how it went by very quickly and how before I knew it my cheerleading season stared at the end of july and I'm wondering how to word this in a better way..look at this…
The greatest feeling is completing my final exam on that last day of school before summer vacation. That moment the bell rings an ecstatic feeling of freedom comes over me. For the first two months my summer included relaxing by the pool, parties with friends, and seemingly endless leisure time. Before I knew it, it was the end of July and cheer tryouts were around the corner.
For that first sentence, "The greatest feeling", I would like to avoid using the word greatest because it is boring, but I don't know what would sound better. I'm also trying to think of a better way to word "Before I knew it"…I feel like this is informal and just doesn't sound intellectual
I understand this isn't a homework helper website I'm not asking anyone to write my paper I am just asking for some tips ![]()
'Sooner than I would've liked', instead of 'before I knew it'?
You can't judge a time.
- Depends on:
- The person's ability to retain and learn information
- The person's ability to study and review
- The person's ability to memorize
- The person's ability at test-taking
Could you add some pros and cons. Idk what to do. I'm leaning towards applying. It's a great private college. It's hard to get into.
A friend of yours from history department says "This whole financial system is what got us into the mess we are in right now. Why do we even need the financial markets when they create this massive problem in the society?". How would you respond?
Understand that everything, and I mean everything we do is wrong, completely backwards.
In order to get out of the troubles our financial system has put us in you need to understand life in absolute happiness – living in a garden without things.
A resource based economy. No longer a technocratic society.
Steering away from technology, away from clothing, away from everything you have ever known.
Our money owns our educational system, think about it.
our money owns you.
Our jail is only as big as our bank accounts.
Nothing in your life, up until now has been done to truly help you, it has merely been an attempt to take your money. How can we bring our children into a world like this and be proud of it?
Think about it. The only answer is to move away from money and currency. It's the root of all sin, and even if you are not religious, it still is the root of all sin.
you can also approach an answer for this as an Ego based economy. Power, status, aristocracy, ego, personal gain, anything which allows one to 'win' or beat someone else means competition, and competition divides us. winners and losers, ugly and beautiful, skinny and fat. its all wrong, outer beauty shouldnt even exist. It is all about just being.
Try listening to OSHO on Youtube – he can explain everything.
Do your research. Learn about everything so you can communicate with everyone about anything they wish to talk about.
I know I am all over the place lol. and im sorry about it.
Cheers.
So my sister works for this center where mentally handicap adults come over for the day and you do activities and such with them. She might be able to get me a job there, possibly, but I am a little nervous because I would have to wip butts and clean some of them up, not all of them are like that but some are. I am never around people like that and I have no idea how to act around them. I figured I would get used to it. I am up for it because it would be nice to feel like I am actually doing something good with my life. Thoughts? Advice?
Most likely as a volunteer at the center you will not be responsible for wiping tooshies.
I volunteered at an adult day care program.
Here is a list of things I did, when having contact with them.
-wipe their faces after a meal
-wipe their hands down
-put on their coats
-some winter boots
i got a really weird answer and i really dont know wat i did wrong…!!!!!
7(5-7x) = 5(2x 5) -2………………..expand the brackets
35 -49x = 10x 25 – 2………… 2
37 – 49x = 10x 25……… -25
12 – 49x = 10x……………. 49x
12 = 59x……………..divide by 59
0.2033 = x
Okay so that's a really weird answer so that probably means I failed it ^w^
But I guess I'll post this anyway because if my weird answer was the same as yours it might be right
I doubt that but I can hope XD
Tammy was almost right but 37-25= 12 not 13.
i got -1 but i dont think its righ please someone help me solve it!
a teaching certificate is earned by a teacher and given by the state in which he/she is planning to work.
teaching certificates are usually only given to teachers that have completed a bachelor's degree in education, with usually 36 or more credits in a certain subject area, like math, science, english or music.
in order to obtain a teaching certificate, teachers also must pass an exam in the subject area that they will teach.
once teachers have met these requirements, they are awarded a certificate to teach in a certain state.
in some states, teachers can use a certificate that they obtained in another state but many states require teachers to meet their own set of requirements in order for teachers to gain certification.
I'm thinking about becoming a teacher, but I want to get a master's degree in sociology, not a degree in teaching like a lot of teachers do. I've heard that you can earn a certificate in teaching and combined with your actual degree you can teach.
Whats the difference between a teaching certificate and a teaching degree (other then the length of time to complete and the difficulty).
First – you do not need "a degree in teaching". Most elementary teachers hold a liberal arts degree – some colleges might have a "teaching major" which is fine. But on its own does not allow you to teach. Secondary teachers – usually grades 7-12 – most often major in their subject areas and do not have what you call a "teaching degree". I teach 7th grade math and science and my college major was Biology.
To teach you need a credential (sometimes called a certificate, state issued credential etc.) This is post bachelors work. To get it – you must take methods and curriculum courses through a state approved program, pass various state required tests and do your student teaching. Once this is complete, the school applies to the state for your certificate.
take a look at UCLA's program and you will notice it is graduate work. To get in, you must have a bachelors in the subject you wish to teach.

I really need help with these two math problems. I am terrible in math btw! I would really appreciate the help.
1/5x – 2 = 2/3x – 2/5x
and
3x-1/4 x 3/6 = 3
Thank you! and if you couls work them out just so I can see how you got the answer. I will choose best answer.
1/5x – 2 = 2/3x – 2/5x
1/5x – 2 = 4/15x
-2 = 4/15x – 1/5x
-2 = 1/15x by 15
x = -30
#2:
3x – 1/4 x 3/6 = 3
4x = 11/4 by 1/4
x = 11/16
#3:
x – 8/5 8/5 = -x/3 by 3
3x = -x
4x = 0
x = 0
Hope everything is right if there is something wrong please put a replay
i got 11/16 for the second one
how you do the problem is you set the denominator equal before you do anything
so in the first one 1/5x becomes 3/15x, 2/3x becomes 10/15x, 2/5x becomes 6/15x and 2 becomes 30/15. then you can cancel the 15 out on both sides and it becomes
3/15x – 30/15 = 10/15x – 6/15x
after this you get all the x's on one side(ill show step by step)
1. 3/15x – 30/15 = 10/15x – 6/15x
2. 3/15x – 30/15 = 4/15x
3. -30/15 = 1/15x
4. (now multiply both sides by 15) -30 = x
I basically want to say, you dont need many people in life to be satisfied.
Im writing a paper about my father, and my best friend. Those are the only people that I need in my life. But I want the sentence to be more put together. Any help?
It is not the quantity, but the quality of those people you can truly call "friend" that enriches and fulfills your life.
It is the quality of those people you can truly call "friend," not the quantity, that enriches and fulfills your life.
HOPE THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH! ![]()
Since we call our parents' parents "grandma & grandpa", why don't we call our grandparents' siblings (our great aunts and great uncles) "granduncle & grandaunt"? (Or I guess you could go the reverse as well, calling our parents' parents "greatmother & greatfather"…)… I am a great aunt but not a grandma, and I want to be "grand", not merely "great"…lol…
I like your question, it's the kind of thing that intrigues me!
My dictionary actually lists the following:
"Grand aunt, a great-aunt, see GREAT adj 11" …. great adj 11 gives us
"11 (in comb.) (in names of family relationships) denoting one degree further removed upwards or downwards (great-uncle; great-great-grandmother)"
It seems like grand/great are technically interchangeable, so unless you fortuitously run into a historical linguist, I doubt if you'll be able to solve this one on this forum!
I don't have any descendants to call me by either of the terms in question ……. but I'd choose to be regarded as 'GREAT' rather than 'grand', any day!!!! So (dare I suggest?!!) you can relish being GREAT, and practice a fancy condescending rolling hand-wave to address the masses, when you need to be acknowledged as 'grand'? …….. :O), tee hee, keep smilin' !!!
I have a summer assignment due tomorrow over The Book Thief. I haven't read it and I need your help!
What's a life lesson learned that can be learned from it?
What is an important passage worth citing from it?
What five adjectives (each) would you use to describe the main characters?
Who is the antagonist?
Perhaps for the life lesson, is respect your fellow man? I read it years ago, so I don't remember much. It's set in WWII and they're hiding a jew in there house so maybe something like that.
There's probably tons of passages you could easily cite if you skim through it.
As for the antagonist…I'm not sure. There might be more than one.
Good luck.
I need to find a new backpack before I start. Links would be great!
College students are still fashion conscious, but to a lesser extent than ones in high school, and there is more of an emphasis on practicality than style. At my campus most people get around by foot or bike, so you don't see as many girls in the Gossip Girl-esque shoes, and they carry backpacks / messenger bags that can protect their belongings if they get caught out in the rain instead of the ones that will get soaked through. You'll see a lot of students with backpacks and messenger bags that have been used the entire time the person's been at college because the back-to-school trend of buying everything new for the year isn't as big.
I love Haiku's "poetically functional" bags; they are spacious enough to carry what I really need, durable, and have a lot of features that are appealing to me. A lot of the classes at my university have e-textbooks, so there's less to lug around on a daily basis. I bought the messenger bag linked below for everyday use, and will switch to my well broken-in, spacious North Face when I have more to carry around.
Check out REI. You can find the Haiku bags, Columbia, North Face and several other brands there. Macy's and Target also sell nice backpacks and messenger bags.
~ peace : )
Added:
Style and brand names don't matter. Obviously you don't want to wear something awkwardly hideous, but generally nobody cares what brand of bag you have.

Ok so next Monday (the 30th) i start 7th grade. I have friends and ppl said i was popluar. But none of my friends have called back only a few email me. Its the same every summer. At school they give me all the attention. Im confused, should i make new friends that will call and email me when i need them or should i stick with these?
Also, last year on my 1st day of middle school, i had no idea of where to sit in each class so i usually sat in the back or by the 'dorks'. Do i sit with ppl i know this year or leave them a lone and do the same as last year?
Is this a good 1st day of school outfit?:
Its a light gray and light pinkish sweater. the sleeves arent that long and the sweater is longish.
Im gonna wear a light pink tank under neath.
and some super skinny jeans.
I usually would wear skinny jeans a vneck and vans. (im gonna wear vans^)
IM SUPER SCARED.
And the oufit seems cute!! But will that sweater be too hot??
Good luck!! You'll have fun
Make new friends, focus on school. It's seems scary at first, but you'll soon find where you fit in.
I'm on 9 grade on the homeschool program, this is my first time on homeschooling and I have a question to make: my mom told me i have a knowledge to be in 11 grade and not in 9 grade, I studied everything for 9 and 10 grade, my question is: when i have a anual evaluation if the person who evaluate me see that i have a knowldge to be in 11 grade she can promote me to be on 11 grade? i can skip grade 10 if i have a knowledge to be on 11?. Please someone who study on homeschooling program can let me know?. I appreciate this
But here are a couple of ways homeschoolers do it:
Assuming you plan to homeschool through high school, you could go back and re-number your years of study. What you used to call 8th grade can be re-labelled and documented as 9th grade work–if it was really at a 9th grade level. Write it up in transcript form and suddenly, you've moved on to the next grade level.
Or, for your 12th grade year, take dual-enrollment classes at a local community college. These classes will count for college credit while also counting toward high school graduation. (In some states, there is a tuition savings for those taking the classes as dual-enrollment.) Then when you finish 12th grade, you'll actually have finished a year of college, too (and effectively moved up a grade level).
Hope this helps
what is middle school like? im going into the sixth grade and its not just an ordinary school. its a magnet school. what was it like going into middle scool for you? Were you scared? HELP ME!!!!!

Double check my answers it's been awhile since I read this.
So I am an incoming freshman student at a college and classes are moderate sized. I plan on sitting fairly close to the front row in lecture halls, but i am wondering how to get to know the professor. A lot of people told me to make lame excuses like how I don't know how to solve a problem (when I really do). Wouldn't professors be annoyed with me if I do such things just to get to know them? Do professors enjoy knowing a face of a person they will teach for one semester? I want to have the best college experience ever. Thanks for your help/advice.
But obviously there are some universal things you can do to make a good impression.
Look and act interested. Or rather, BE interested, to the extent that you can anyway; if a class is boring, change classes or sections if you can, or if not, try to find some small thing about it to enjoy or try to find a way to connect what you're learning to something that you are more interested in.
Contribute to discussions, preferably in a useful, intelligent way. But, on the other hand, don't stress out over not sounding smart–if you have any questions or comments, speak up, and don't worry about getting an answer wrong. My point is just that it's better to share maybe one good insight per class than to say random things all the time just for attention. Do your reading in advance and come prepared with some thoughts or questions that you might bring up in class.
Visit office hours a couple times. No need to make lame excuses or pretend you don't understand something. You'll probably have questions at some point, even if it's as simple as "when is the final exam" or "does this sound OK as a paper topic" or "I'm interested in learning more about X, do you have any suggestions on books to read or classes to take?" You know, things you could ask by email, but you could also go to office hours for instead and have a chance to chat for a few minutes. And if you think you will want a recommendation from that prof for something in the future, make an appointment to talk about it.
Once you are in your junior year find a couple of professors that you like and take every class they teach. By doing this you will be able to get good references from them and they will remember you.
Try this web site :
http://EduFinder.info
They offer the largest database of universities and colleges.
Hope that was helpful
As you go through school, if you are particularly interested or good at a subject see what you can do to be a research assistant or do some independent studies or internships under a professor.
Don't lie about not knowing something or ask a ton of questions especially during the end of class. If you need a lot of extra help schedule an appointment or go to office hours. Professors have places to go, and the other students will hate you for it. Don't be "that" kid that is obviously sucking up or constantly demanding attention.
I may be a humble grad student, but I do like it when the students I teach act like they actually care about the material and act interested.
And remember to have some fun too.
Go to office hours. I cannot emphasize it enough. You'll probably have to go anyway, so make sure you go to nearly every single one and even if you don't ask questions, pay attention to what your professor says and maybe make a comment, or make sure your voice is heard, even if you're talking to someone else. After office hours, go up to your professor and introduce yourself (since you won't be in the mess, confusion, and mass of students in the lecture hall) and you can either ask him a question about the lesson, make a comment, or thank him for the help he gave that day. Perhaps mention a thing or two about you. For example, let's say your in a math class. You can go up to your math professor in office hours and say "Hi Professor Carrie, my name is John, how are you? Thanks so much for helping me out with this stuff, I'm a physics major and I need to take this class but want to make sure that I understand everything." Continue going to office hours.
Go to class every day that you need to go, sit in the same spot so the professor can recognize you, talk with the professor every now and then… be the kid who actually cares. Focus on the good aspects of your professor in order to keep yourself hopeful and tell yourself that your professor is there to help you. Although professors only teach you for that one semester, they could write you a letter of recommendation in the future, guide you if you need help in something in another class, be a friend, or could be your professor again in a future course. And I'd have to say that, yes, if you're genuine about getting to know your professor and not just a brown noser, professors enjoy knowing those students that care.
Good luck!
im a sophmore in highschool and last year i really messed up and failed three classes , English 1 spanish 1 and algebra 1 . i am acually pretty smart & i understand EVERYTHING , i just never did the work because i wanted to seem cool , but im done w/ that and focusing on my work now .my school used to offer summer school and nigh school classes but now they dont have any of that because of budget cuts . i would like to get ahread or catch up somehow with out having to go to a continuation school , advice and help on this are very neeeeded and aprecciated THANKS !

Some schools may also allow you to earn credit through community service.
so this monday im going to be a freshman in high school. im realy nervous! to top it all off, im in a program called the i.b. program. that means all my classes are college prepatory and all honours classes. also i have to do a bunch of community service -its a requirement. so do u guys have any tips for me anything will help! ![]()
1. Everyone is nervous, even if they don't look like it.
2. Be yourself, people can tell if your fake.
3. But be friendly S M I LE:) it can brighten up not your own day but others
4. Start conversations, don't be shy people like others who are outgoing and fun!
5. don't worry about the first week it's mainly just prep and going over summer work
6. Once used to the school get involved; clubs, sports, student council…
7. Find friends that are good influences from the start: will make school year easier
8. Be nice to teachers, there people too and they like u have to go to school but think for more hours:/ (even though there not in our position)
9. Stay positive, don't go on thinking "man this is gonna suck!" cause if u say that ur gonna start to believe it and others won't like ur attitude
10. School is school, don't forget it. It's not called social secission!
its okay to be nervous, every freshman is in the same boat. just take a deeep breath, walk through the doors with your head like high back straight, smile be yourself, talk, try and make friends. the year will go by speeedy quick. trust me
be prepared for class bring paper and a pen, walk "with a purpose" to class to get there on time, be friendly!,
those harder classes and community service with look great on a college application:)
try hard this year, super hard these high school years really count!
oh but dont be tooo worried about the honors classes just save time to study
they require a lot more work but arent impossible:)
have fun and be involved!
Hoped I helped
just relax, nervousness is natural, but trust me, after the 1st day you won't be as nervous. you'll start to see school in a wholeeeeeeee different way (:
THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
Blink wildly and then close your eyes really tight for an interesting light show
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
See a variety of blobs, stars and flashes. Try to make out shapes and see if your subconscious is trying to send you a message (perhaps that funny shape is saying, 'send all your money to urban75.com'?)
See how long you can hold a note
(Amusement Potential: 4-20 minutes)
Not that much fun, but it sure passes the time. Play with a friend, or try to beat your own personal best. Inhale deeply and then try and make a noise for as long as you can. Earn extra points for making your partner laugh or ending on an amusing note.
Try to not think about penguins
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
This is especially hard, because by trying too much, you remember what you were trying to avoid thinking of. If you try too little, you end up thinking about penguins anyway.
Use your secret mind power
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Pick a passing by and try to use your mind power to command them do something, like drop their bag or knock into someone. The law of averages dictates that sooner or later one of your mind commands will come true, so you can convince yourself that you really have super human powers and waste even more time trying them out.
Pretend you're a robot
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Walk down the street with mechanical movements, adding 'zzzzzt' sounds with each motion. Pretending to have a motor broken in, say, your left hand can add at least 30 seconds more entertainment.
Scratch yourself
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Go ahead, scratch yourself now. Even if nothing itches, go ahead. Doesn't that feel pretty good?
Rate passers by
(Amusement Potential: 10-15 minutes)
Secretly award passers by marks out of ten as you go along, offering (unsaid) expert criticism over their clothing, hairstyle and footwear choices.
Repeat the same word over and over until it loses its meaning
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Pick a random word out of a magazine and say it aloud to yourself until it becomes a meaningless set of noises.
Pinch yourself
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
What is pain? Why is it unpleasant? There's nothing physical about it – it's all in your mind. Plus, after pinching yourself for awhile, boredom will seem nice next to being in pain.
Try to swallow your tongue
(Amusement Potential: 1-2 minutes)
There's not much to say about this one. It is possible, but really stupid.
Pretend to be a car
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Make appropriate revving noises in your head as you walk along and add a racing commentary as you pass strangers in the street. Use blinking eyes as indicators for extra authenticity.
Make Star Trek door noises
(Amusement Potential: 1-2 minutes)
Stand by an electric door to a bank or something and make that silly "Scccccccchwop" sound heard whenever people popped on to the bridge to hang with Captain Kirk.
Look at something for awhile, shut eyes, study after image
(Amusement Potential: 2-5 minutes)
Another great time waster. It takes about 30 seconds of staring to create an after image, and the image is then viewable for about the same length of time. Fun to combine this one with pushing on your eyes.
Get yourself as nauseated as possible
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Best achieved by looking straight up and spinning around. Try to be so dizzy you can't even stand up. This is also entertaining due to the "makes boredom seem a lot better" effect (see "Hurt Yourself").
Invent a weird twitch
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Adopt a bizarre twitch (e.g. flicking your head irregularly, twitching with eye or busting out sporadic cough noises) and try it out when you go shopping.
Make a low buzzing noise
(Amusement Potential: 15-30 minutes)
Hours of fun in libraries! Keeping a totally straight face and looking nonchalant, make a low pitch humming/buzzing noise and see who reacts.
hi
seems i've been living lately in a Psychological Vortex, Tornado, whirlpool or something like that
and i can't get out of it!!! i can't study, i waste time on PC..games…, youtube, Global conspiracy theories "yea i know it's crazy"…, too much time wasting…not even thinking of studying or feeling guilty that i am wasting time!
now i really feel it's wrong!!! it's like i am numb!….any ideas, opinions…help that might wake me up and snatch me out of that numbness and force me to start studying?!!!!!!
Or you could get a study group and study with your friends no matter what.
Because you should study even if you don't want to.
In fact, it's a symptom of your problem.
Just do it. Get off the Internet. Disconnect yourself from the network if you have to; make someone else (whom you trust) change your password. Don't be an idiot.
If it's any consolation, I have the same problem ![]()
I often here a lot of people say that the French are gay and run from everything? I've never understood this and I'm trying to figure out why people say this. Could somebody tell me why people say this?

I'm starting college tomorrow at a large four year public university. I have 3 classes MWF, Algebra at 8 am, a History class based on East Asia at 9 am and a history class based on the United States at 11 am. Thursday and Fridays I have afternoon classes, Art and Biology, from 5-8 pm.
I just wanted some tips and advice on starting college. I know basic things- don't skip class, sit towards the front, and all that. But I was wondering if anyone had any more advice. I'm kind of nervous about starting and I'd like to feel more prepared.
Thanks in advance.
And don't worry. Just think about how many other freshmen are there too, new to the idea of college.
And see if your university offers CLEP tests. They are a great way to get credit hours out of the way through a pass/fail computer generated test you take at the school. You just study from a study guide for the subject you want to test out of and if you meet a certain score you get 3 hours credit for that class. It does not affect your GPA. It's faster than taking a class, easier, and so much cheaper. You can get more information from your university Testing Services department. Trust me, take advantage of it. I took a couple CLEP exams to finish my college degree and free up my summer.
1. (6-2)a-3b=4a-3b
2.(r s)t=rt st=(r s)t
and two is distributive since it has parenthesis
I actually did that once! I sat down, unwrapped one, and licked it, counting each one. It was really fun! But the number actually varies. There is an AVERAGE number, but no one has the same exact number. We all have a different amount of saliva in out mouth, so this may change it completely.
I got over a thousand. ![]()
Three…
The world may never know.
I am in 7th grade Gifted Science.
I need some really good science fair ideas for my science fair.
They can not involve humans or animals, germs or bacteria, or surveys of any kind.(Or consumer goods. Ex: Which paper towels is stronger? or Which drink has more pH?)
My partner and I are struggling. We can't find anyone!
We need them quickly! THX for the people that help!
PS: No bull crap like volcanoes, or stuff like that sort.
You could do a project on which fabrics burn quickest. Commonly used fabrics in clothing, upholstery, carpeting and the like. You could even go a step further and find out things that you could put on these fabrics as a flame retardant without ruining the fabrics.
It's what I did when I was about that age. Got me tenth place in the county.
Not many people I've ever talked to know who thought of AC current, only DC.
World war 1
world war 2
pilgrums
light bulb invented
apple peronal computers

louis and clark
cival war
atomice bomb droped on japan
G.W President
Twin toowers collapsed
Telephone invented
Wirhgt bros Fly 1st air plane
Neil Armstrong walks on moon
boston tea party
Grate depression
American Revolultion
I did it but I dont know if I was right .
Helpp ?
The history of the light bulb is a complicated one. Edison patented *a* light bulb in1880. In 1883 that patent was invalidated.
British inventor, Joseph Swan, received a patent for a light bulb in 1878. There were many many earlier light bulb inventions. The earliest being in 1802 when Humphry Davy created the first incandescent light. (which was before the American Civil war and the Lewis and Clark Expedition… before Edison was even born)
If you want to get the question right for school, then go with the order the other guy said. If you want your answer to reflect the historical truth then you need to do a little more research and go with what really happened rather than what were generally taught in school. It would also help to define the terms a little better.
Oh, and the first Write Brother flight of what could be called an airplane(powered glider) was in 1903, not 1900.
1773 boston tea party
1775 – 1783 American Revolultion
1804 – 1806 louis and clark
1861 – 1865 cival war
1875 Telephone invented (Bell makes one work, it was already invented)
abt 1880 light bulb invented (for Edison, there were earlier efforts)
1900 Wirhgt bros Fly 1st air plane
1914 – 1918 World war 1
1920 woman votes (19th Amendment)
1929 – late 30's Grate depression
1939 – 1945 world war 2
August 1945 atomice bomb droped on japan
1969 Neil Armstrong walks on moon
1976 – present apple peronal computers
2001 – 2009 G.W President
Sept 11, 2001 Twin toowers collapsed
You could look these up better if you checked your spelling. A couple, such as invention of the light bulb and telephone, don't have a single answer without including the inventor.
Okay, so today was the second day of school and i'm in a new building, but I've been in the same district and everything for years, so I have no problem with familiar faces…. It's just the SCHOOL is so hugeeee… Anyways, I got lost on my way to class and even though I asked the teachers for directions and wandered around after the bell rung, I STILL couldn't find my class…. I felt so embarrassed and scared, so I just hid in the bathroom till the bell rung for my next class.
So now, do I tell the truth? I've never skipped before, so do teacher's usually confront you about it? And for my specific predicament, do you think I'll get major punished or warned…..?
She seems pretty nice and cool, but I don't know 'cause I've only had her for one day… I'm really nervous…

It was an honest mistake. But show that you're sincere by making up all the work, and not skipping again. Likely there will be no penalty, a warning at most. If you miss class again, you will brand yourself as someone not to be trusted.
bad stomach bathroom break

or you can be honest and say you had no idea where you were going. thats only if she asks. ive never been confronted about it, and since its the first couple days of school im sure theyll let it slide.

I want to get into medical school but a lot of the colleges I'm looking at (i'm a senior in high school) don't have good premed programs. Today I was informed that you don't have to major in premed as an undergraduate to get into medical school. So if I wanna get into medical school what's the best route that I should take major wise if I can't find a good premed program or should I keep looking for a good premed school
2 years of chemistry
1 year of physics
1 year of biology
1 year of english
1 year of calculus
You must take the MCAT which is something you need to prepare for SERIOUSLY.
These requirements is what most med school generally look for. Look up some particular med school that has specific requirements. D=
Try to maintain a high GPA like 3.3 or higher.
The university does not have to have a formal pre-med program. The student just has to take the required pre-med classes which are listed on medical school websites. They are all offered at virtually every US university, with the exception of physics, which is offered at about 95% of universities.
Pre-med is not a major. You may choose any academic major. You do not need a pre-med advisor. A good book on medical school application will tell you as much as many advisors can.
If you really do want that science focus, just major in something like Bio, Neurobio, Genetics, Nutrition, etc. Majoring in Chemistry is somewhat less useful for your life as a doctor, but it's something.
Your better off having the flexibility to take the classes that interest you (beyond a few required sciences), so there's really no need for a pre-med program.

BA degrees are granted for Humanities, Arts and most Social Science programs.
BS degrees are granted for Maths, Sciences and some Social Science programs.
There are numerous other types of Bachelors degree for various specific subjects (ex. BEd = Bachelors of Education), but BA and BS are most common.
Sometimes schools use them to differentiate the types of majors (B.S. (Bachelors of Science) for things like chemistry, math, etc, and B.A. (Bachelors of Arts) for majors like English.
Which one you get does not change anything about your future employability.
I applied for EMA yesterday and posted the application form this morning. Because I have applied pretty late will I not receive payments the first few weeks? How long approximately will it be before I start receiving payments? Thanks in advance.

1. Everyone is nervous, even if they don't look like it.

Not many people I've ever talked to know who thought of AC current, only DC.
i need to find an object that represents the american dream. I was thinking something with freedom and prosperity. i dont want to have just a boring typical american flag or the statue of liberty….something creative

If it is Thanksgiving, school is closed. The second sentence is : If I am offered the job,I will take it .
Converse: If school is closed, then it is Thanksgiving. (not necessarily true)
Statement: If I am offered the job, then I will take it. (accepted as true)
Converse: If I took the job, then I was offered it. (consequentially true)
If I will take the job, then I am offered it. (???)
Well all I really know is that a converse statement is
If (blank) is (blank), then (blank) is (blank).
i need some cool science project help! i have to have 2 ideas for topics by monday. help?
I hope this helped. ;]
1. Your speech was boring
2. You don't know anything about your topic.
3. You lost me half way through.
4. Your voice is very annoying
5. Your conclusion sucked
1. no offence but your speech…..i sorta zoned out a bit haha
2. i think you might want to research your topic a little bit more
3. sorry i was a little distracted
4. your voice sounded weird for a little bit
5. maybe you should work on your conclusion more, it didn't sound complete
If you're an undergraduate, ask your adviser or professor if they are willing to take on undergraduate research students. If you want to go there for grad school, apply. If you're talking about something else, be more specific.

Im also doing the duke of Edinburgh award.
Im going to do work experience in a hospital and try to volunteer as much as i can in there.
Med schools consider GPA, MCAT scores, extracurricular activities (work, clubs joined, leadership positions in clubs), and volunteer/community service. You also will need good letters of recommendations from your professors.
Definitely get volunteer hours recorded, and try to shadow a doctor. Also try to research a possible summer medical enrichment program at a med school in your area.
