How can i get good grades in school?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

In the next school year i want to get good grades so i want to know how to get good grades. so c in school i always get a's and b's but how can i get all a's? plus next year i am going to be in all honors classes so i really need to get good grades. plz help. and also if u have some test taking tips pl let me know. thx again. :)

Answer:Your teacher will probably give u at least 2 or 3 days 2 study. My teachers give me about a week on huge tests. Take advantage of that time and spend the hour your usually watching tv or on the computer studying instead. The last quarter of school, my lowest grade was an A!!! I studied hard, took notes in class, listened in class and try your best. If u do all this and still not get all A's, u know u tried your best, be proud of yourself!!! If u do get all A's though, do the same things u did 4 the rest of the school year and reward yourself. Maybe buy yourself new clothes, or eat a giant ice cream sundae. Do something u love 2 do 2 reward yourself 4 your EXCELLENT work. Tips 4 tests would be 1. Be calm 2. Study 3. If your teacher gives u a couple minutes 2 look over notes before a test, take advantage of that. Look over something u were having trouble with. 4. Do your best

I hope u like my advice!!!!

Answer:Study. go ahead of the class. Do extra work. Try look for year help files on internet

Test taking tip: Relax. Everything will flow past easily. Everyone has different studying methods. Like I look at pictures and graphs. I remember them perfectly. But I can read a phrase 20 times and still forget it.

Answer:uhhh…. listen in class? dont space out? study hard? disconnect yourself from everyone else so all you think about is studying. then reconnect yourself back to the world when school is out.

Answer:Study well, Plan your studies. study for 45min and take gap of 5 or 10 min then continue for next 45min and so on. keep changing subjects in regular intervals… Don't stress your self. Sleep well, eat well.. don't stress your mind… Play more games. that will help you to boost memory power and release stress levels which will help you to concentrate more.

All The Best

Answer:once you get your schedule, make your own schedule. certain days to study extra subjects. If you can get the lesson plans for the year, you can see what type of projects you have to do, give yourself that extra time to make it even better.

I use to study out loud. Saying it, talking to the work.. I know I sound crazy, but I didnt care it worked for me, and you know my little brother got some pointers out of it too.. LOL He could answer some of the questions and my parents couldn't believe it.

Answer:check this out. great tips:

Do I have a good chance of getting into an Ivy League?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

I currently have a 3.97 (because I got a B in Algebra I which I took in 7th grade for high school credit but since it's for credit it counts towards my GPA) GPA but am only a freshman so I hope with AP classes I will raise it up to a 4.0 (if that's possible). I am in Tennis in the fall and Lacrosse in the Spring. But I am not very athletic so the best I could hope for is JV in either one of those. In the Winter I was thinking about doing either newspaper, debate or volunteering (what would you recommend for being more well-rounded?). Out of all those I think I would like newspaper or volunteering more but I am not the best writer, but it would help me improve my writing skills. I'm from a single parent household and we've always been in the lower class until about a week or two ago when my mom got a new job. Oh, and I am currently trying to save money up to be a foreign exchange student in Spain to become more fluent in Spanish. Also, I am going to work in the summer part time and volunteer. I think I plan on taking about 7 AP classes total? And I take all the advanced classes I can, no slacker classes! Oh yeah! And I'm going to be involved in Student Council.

Sorry for how long this is, I just want to make sure you know everything.

Thank you! :)

Answer:Continue with the harder classes, AP, maybe when you're a junior see if there's a local college that will let you take an afternoon class, volunteer, whatever club you chose – stick with it for all four years (this looks great), also try and get a few leadership roles, president and the like. Volunteer, volunteer, volunteer! Also try and get an internship with something that could go with whatever you want to major in. The Spanish thing is pretty cool and I'd definitely try and do that. If you are bilingual, that also looks good. It's a lot on your plate, but if you can handle it all that's a good sign.

Answer:No. You need to be in senior year to apply for colleges. If you mean then, then who the hell knows. That's a long way away from you. But if I were to take a shot in the dark I'd say most likely, no. That B really messed you up man and practically any college will see that as a huge warning sign. I mean you can get all A's in AP but if you really got a B in Algebra I what the heck are they supposed to think about your basic level math skills. I'm sorry man, but I think JC may be better suited for someone like you. And hey, that's not always a bad thing. I mean, society needs it's ditch diggers :D

Regards,

Shazam

Answer:You can't get a 4.0 if you've ever gotten a grade below an A, but that's ok, you don't need a 4.0 to get into a top school. You need very high grades, very hard classes, and great test scores just to compete with everyone else, but even then your chances are still 10% or less. What you need to do is a find a way to make yourself stand out, bonus points if it's in the field you want to major in. That's what you're lacking.

What happens when you walk into college with college credit?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Ok, more specifically, I'm looking to attend a 0-6 pharmacy school this year. The first two years are all pre-req and then years 3-6 are the beef of the degree. What happens when you walk into college and fulfill the majority of your pre-req courses with AP credits? Are you able to move ahead to the next year (one year of pre-reqs that weren't fulfilled by APs) or do you just take less courses each semester?

Answer:I had a genius friend that went to URI 0-6 Pharmacy School and when he was a freshman, he was actually a junior. He only had to take a few of the classes, but most schools recognize AP credits. Some don't, but I'd call the Admissions program of that school and ask them.

Answer:Well, it all depends on your scores and how the university looks at them. Most schools accept 3, and some even accept 2s. However getting credit is different from being exempted from taking the class. For example, if you got a 3 in AP physics C, you might get certain units for it but you might have to take the physics class again in college because the university requires that you have at least a 4 or 5.

Furthermore, having fulfilled the requirements will give you a plus in college since you won't need to spend money for those classes or you can take other classes if you prefer. This might result in graduating early so good luck in college. =)

How long will it take to get 60 college credits in criminal justice?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

I need to know so I can start looking for a college and studying to become a cop.

Answer:60 college credits is an associates degree – you should go for the associates in CJ! Try your local community colleges first. They tend to have pretty good CJ programs, and they are your least expensive option.

60 credits, if you went just fall and spring terms, would take you 2 years, if you went to school full time. But if you also went to school over the summers, you could shorten up that time and get your 60 credits done sooner.

Answer:well on average you do ~15 credits per semester. so 30 credits per year, so 2 years? take into consideration when classes are offered and prereqs though

How to be the smartest kid in class/known as a genius?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Okay..I really want to be the smartest kid in most of my classes, everyone knows I'm smart but they think I'm just a normal smart person.Everyone treats me like..'Wow you're smart..who cares?'..But when this super genius 'gay' guy as everyone calls him.EVERYONE likes him.EVERYONE.He makes friends with people a grade ahead of him..just to be a kiss-up.He was in my class three times..I HATE HIM.He kisses up to the teachers, too.

Anyways, can someone help me become smarter..and be known as smart..btw I'm VERY competitive..As you probably noticed.I need tips..not like ..READ.everyone tells me READ…I want to become more known then him also…so Thank you!..plus I need tips on making him jealous..thanks!!!!!!!

Answer:Maybe it's not the fact that you need to be smart but the fact that you need to be more social. Although this guy may be smart, he's making friends not by his smarts but by his social ability. I know a lot of smart kids in my school but it's the smart kids who are nice, smile, and are friends with different types of people that get known. I mean, I'm also known as pretty smart person in my school but because I'm so smart, I intimidated a lot of people in the beginning. But because I'm very friendly everyone came to like me so I'm friends with a lot of people.

I don't think you need to show how smart you are because, no offense, no one likes a smart-alek or a person who will show off their smarts all the time (in fact, I know a girl at my school who is always trying to show off because she knows a lot of random facts and she always tries to undermine the teacher but everyone just finds her rude and very annoying). Just be friendly.

Answer:Find a book.

Open the book.

Read the book.

Close the book.

Tada ! genius !!

Answer:Oh dearie, it sounds like you have a crush on a gay man. Trust me darling, that can never end well. But there are these things called mental steroids. They are known as OxyContin and can drastically improve your mental ability to retain information

Answer:If you have good grades, that's fine. Being competitive will get you nowhere in life.

Do you remember your teachers?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Who was your favourite and why? What subject did they teach?

My favourite back in elementary school was Mme. Ratanarangsri I had her for three years as a french teacher.

In high school I had several

Mrs.Jumah who taught international business. She was like 60 and nuts, always talking really loudly and making weird sounds and going on with long stories like how guys used to get her to write on the board so they could look up her skirt that would take up 3/4 of the class. I remember I ended up with a 95. Easiest class ever lol

Then there were the ones that really had an influence on me.

Mme. Brochu was my high school french teacher for two years who would talk to me like I could do anything I wanted and she was always encouraging me and had almost nothing but compliments to give me on all the work I did. But sadly just a couple months ago she died :(

And finally there was Mrs. Kraft-Willson who taught me english for three years. She was the most fun-loving and caring teacher ever. She was so funny and you'd actually be happy to be in her class. She really made you feel good about your writing and gave really good constructive criticism.

Answer:My french teacher in grade school was cool. She was half swedish and in her 30s lived in Colombia and Mexico, so if I were to reconnect with her I guess we'd speak "franol".

Answer:Nope

Answer:A few of them, one in particular because he was very good. The others I had were mean and lazy.

How did the curse word that rhymes with duck but starts with an F become a curse word?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Why is it so popular? Do you like to use it? Does put into words how you feel better than other words?

Answer:Two of the most popular are:

1) It is an acronym for something (usually either "Fornication Under Consent of King" or "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge"). This is almost certainly false. The trend of creating acronym words like scuba is very much modern. There is evidence of forms of the word "****" being used as far back as the early middle ages.

2) A story centering around Enlish longbow archers in the battle of Agincourt who (in defiance of the possibility of having their middle fingers cut off) waved the offending digits at the French, screaming that they could still "pluck yew!" … har har har.

The truth is, however, neither that simple nor that comical. The orgins of the word" ****" are unclear, although most agree that it probably has its roots in the Germanic or Scandanavian family of languages. One of my favorite sources, alt.english.usage, has this to say:

"[****] is a very old word, recorded in English since the 15th century (few acronyms predate the 20th century), with cognates in other Germanic languages. The Random House Historical Dictionary of American Slang (Random House, 1994, ISBN 0-394-54427-7) cites Middle Dutch fokken = "to thrust, copulate with"; Norwegian dialect fukka = "to copulate"; and Swedish dialect focka = "to strike, push, copulate" and fock = "penis". Although German ficken may enter the picture somehow, it is problematic in having e-grade, or umlaut, where all the others have o-grade or zero-grade of the vowel. "

As for myself, I do use the word, but I have to be pretty riled up to do so. I use it far less now than I did when I was younger. I remember when I first started using it semi-regularly in high school I used to get a little thrill or frission of fear when I used the word because it seemed so taboo to me. It seems more popular these days, although maybe that is just the circles I move in. ;)

I think "****"’s main value as a word is still in its shock value and as part of the youth culture. Want to really **** your parents off? Scream "F— you!" at them. There is also something to be said for the word’s linguistic versatility. It can be a noun, verb, adjective, pretty much a whole sentence ("**** the ******* fuckers!") It’s not necessarily very eloquent, but if used sparingly it can really get the job done and make a very strong point.

Answer:i don't know how it came into play but it does help me explain how i feel better, it shows the person that im talking to that i mean what im saying, but that's usually if im mad. it depends on how you use it though like if you say it all the time then it wont make that big of an impact on someone if they know you that yo mean what you are saying.

Answer:I like to use it. Try Wikipedia.

It has quite a muddle etymology and it seems has ALWAYS been vulgar.

If more people used it more often, it'd be considered much less vulgar, IMO.

Answer:I believe in the 15th century England had the plague aka the black death. Annihilated lots of the population a law was set up fornicate under consent of the king.Hence the word Don't know how true it is but I have googled it and it seems to have some substance.

Answer:The F word is old German and means to thrust. It was easy for it to get the sexual association because that is what is done in the sex act. It became more associated with sex when the church had a law prohibiting sex outside of marriage called For Unlawful cornal Knowledge F.U.C.K. Some entymologists dispute this others accept it. It has always been a curse word of the crude uneducated lower class for centuries and became more widely used by after WWII by the returing soliders. The sixities invented many more creative uses for the word. Shock commedians of the sixities used in their act which brought great laughs and finally movies and cable now use it freely and so dooes the general public.

Answer:We did some historical research on different swear words and the one you are referring to comes from a legal term to describe the rape of a person. it is; Forced Unlawful Carnal Knowledge.
So to use the word as a adjective is completely correct.

I think it so popular just because the use of it gets such an extreme reaction. I don't like to use it and hopefully never will. I can understand getting frustrated and using **** or Bugga(Australianism), but to use this one as well as D.H. is very crude, especially coming from the mouth of a female, and using it in the presence of children. I think it belittles the person that uses it and just shows their extreme lack of control or capabilities in using the english language.

Answer:You have to check this link.

http://www.maniacworld.com/f-81.htm

Anyway on a serious note I remember reading this on wiki a few years back. It was somewhat helpful so here it is:

**** is an English word that, as a verb, literally means "to have sexual intercourse with." Its use is generally considered censurable and offensive in most formal circles, but may also be rather common or expected in certain situations or social groups.
It is unclear whether the word has always been considered vulgar, and if not, when it first came to be used to describe (often in an extremely angry, hostile or belligerent manner) negative or unpleasant circumstances or people in an intentionally offensive way, such as in the term "motherfucker", one of its more common usages in some western parts of the English-speaking world.
**** is used not only as a verb (transitive and intransitive), but also as a noun, interjection, and, occasionally, as an expletive infix. The etymology of the word is uncertain (see below).

Why can

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

I can read many college level books and fully understand the content, but my writing is terrible like a sophomores writing in high school. Why is that?

Answer:Reading is how well you can understand the context of a passage or book. Writing is a altogether different thing. Writing is how well you can make ideas flow, state the obvious things in different ways, and still sound cohesive. My sister is reading at a high school level but still writes like a fourth grader.

Some people just can't write.

Answer:Those two skills use different parts of the brain. For example, I'm learning French and I can read it just fine, but I can't speak it or write it. Also, comprehension is one thing, but actually being creative and writing your own stuff is completely different.

Answer:Understanding "smart" words is not enough. In order to be comfortable writing at a high level, you need to use the words on a daily basis. Or practice writing and gradually improving.

This fall semester i will go to BMCC for freshman year, however…?

however i chose a major of nursing already, actually i want to be a pharmacist. so i just wonder that what major i'd better choose before i transfer to a pharmacy school? Liberal Art or Nursing?

Answer:neither!

in order to get into pharmacy school the pretty much only major you can choose from are biology and chemistry because they require so many of those pre-req courses. check whatever pharmacy school in your area or where you want to go to and check the pre-req courses needed because i'm 100% sure a liberal art will not even get you close to pharmacy school and i'm pretty sure nursing won't either….

good luck

What does the term Pastoral Imagery mean?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Descriptions of the countryside

From wiki

"Pastoral, as an adjective, refers to the lifestyle of shepherds and pastoralists, moving livestock around larger areas of land according to seasons and availability of water and pasturage. "Pastoral" also describes literature, art and music which depicts the life of shepherds, often in a highly idealized manner. It may also be used as a noun (a pastoral) to describe a single work of pastoral poetry, music or drama. An alternative name for the literary "pastoral" (both as an adjective and a noun) is bucolic, from the Greek βουκóλος, meaning a "cowherd"."

from wiki

"Imagery is a collection of images."

keeps me together…. butt will you guys help me??

and i want to go to a reallly good culinary arts school..

Answer:The best culinary school in the US is the Culinary Institute, in Hyde Park, NY. Johnson and Wales, in Providence, RI, is also good.

You can also look at the culinary programs available via your community college system, as well as the community colleges in NY. They tend to be less expensive, and since most entry level jobs in culinary don't pay well, the cost of college is really something you want to think hard about. And be cautious of some of those for-profit culinary schools – they're very expensive. You won't make enough in your first culinary jobs to be able to pay off huge student loan debt, so be very careful about where you enroll.

Most dorms don't allow pets, but there are a few colleges that do. Most don't though. However, the CIA and the community colleges don't require freshmen to live on campus, so you could get an apartment. If you were able to find one that allowed pets, you'd be in good shape. But some apartments don't allow pets, so you'll need to be sure to find one that does.

Answer:Very few dorms allow dogs or cats (whatever it is you have). Culinary arts isn't really something you'd study at a 4-year school; try a technical school or an institute.

Answer:Hey

Try this web-site :

Should i pay the interest on my student loans starting now?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

I got this letter from direct loans, the u.s department of education telling me i have a balance of about 72 on interest on my student loans. should i pay this off right now or wait until i graduate? I was under the impression that I wasn't going to have to pay anything until about six months after graduation :l.

help?

Answer:I have the same type of loan, I deferred the loan for a year or so, you can do the same thing by calling and tell them that you're not financially ready to start making payments. If you're ready yes, you should start making payments ASAP before that amount keep increasing more and more.

Answer:You do not have to pay on your students while it is in deferment. HOWEVER, unless it is subsidized loans, interest still accrues even if you are not paying on it.

So, if possible, it is good to pay something on them, because it helps keeps the interest down, and aot easier to really pay it off when you can start. But most people do not considering no income to do it.

Answer:education.mypressonline.com – it provides some tips about applying to US federal and state grants for college students.

Are these grades acceptable for a top graduate school?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

I am getting my Bachelor's in English and plan on getting my Master's or PhD in the subject.

Out of the total undergraduate classes I have taken in my major area, I have received…

10 A's

3 B's

3 C's

My overall GPA is 3.6.

I understand GRE Score and Writing Sample are significant factors as well, but just in light of my grades, is it possible for me to get into a graduate program for English in universities such as..

New York University, University of Chicago, UC Berkeley, UCLA, or Stanford?

If I do very well on the GRE and writing sample (and have great letters of rec commendation, which I do), can I get into one of these top schools despite the C's?

I appreciate everyone's time. Thank you.

Answer:If the C's were confined to your freshman year, if you had no B's after your sophomore year, and if all of your subsequent grades were stellar, you'd have a chance, but your grades in both your junior and senior years would need to be of the best — no C's, no B's. It will also help if you never earned anything under an A in any English classes — if the C's and B's were in science or something.

The schools you are considering have extremely demanding graduate programs in English, and it takes years to earn a PhD in English. These schools would need to be absolutely sure that you were up to it.

You'll need truly excellent recommendations from your professors, too. They count for a very great deal when it comes to graduate programs.

Answer:Usually a student in your situation would find admission to an English graduate program at any of these schools to be very difficult. You will be competing with students whose overall GPA is over 3.8.

Answer:It's not always that simple–there are other factors that the schools consider. Do you have any special projects that you have done, or any unusual experiences such as a writing retreat during a summer? those are the types that get into top programs. There are also other great schools such as the University of Iowa.

my great grandma and great grandpa are from Spain, then moved to Guatemala.

my grandma was born in Guatemala, parents are them ^^.

my grandpa was from Guatemala but idk about his parents.

my mom is born in Guatemala.

my dads side:

my great grandma and great grandpa were born in Spain then moved to Colombia.

my grandma was born in Colombia, her parents are them ^^.

my great grandma was born in Spain then moved to Colombia.

my great grandpa was born in Colombia.

my grandpa was born in Colombia, his parents are them ^^.

my dad was born in Colombia.

i was born in America, so my nationality is American, but want i need help with is figuring out my percentage of Guatemalan, Colombian, and Spanish. please answer good

PS: Spanish = from Spain (for the idiots who didnt know that).

PSS: ^^ = lines above (just incase you didnt get those lines)

Answer:ok im not 100% sure but ill try my best.

Spanish-1/3

Guatemalan-1/3

Columbian-1/3

I said 1/3 each because it seems like you have equal parts. Both sets of great-grandparents were born in Spain (1/3) dads side grandma and grandpa were born in Columbia (1/3) and moms side is Guatemala. (1/3) Mom fits into the 1/3 Guatemalan and dad fits into the 1/3 columbian.

Answer:Sorry Danny, but the answer is not that easy, the more you go back into time, the more you explore who your great great great grandparents are, the more chances of your heritage being a mixed bag.

What does this phrase mean?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

i was reading and it said "the runaway popularity of the water closet" by "running popularity" do they mean, that the popularity of it decreased or increased?

Answer:Here, runaway is an adjective describing the popularity of the water closet. Runaway, meaning the popularity was so great, it was rampant, out of control.

What are my chances for UCSD transfer?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Basically i plan to apply this Fall for UCSD. My major is Mechanical Engineering.

My GPA right now is 3.34

The biggest obstacle I have right now that may prevent me from transfer is I got 2 C's in Calculus 1 and 2. I know, I'm such a loser. I got C in Calculus 1 is no excuse, I was lazy. The second C in Calculus 2 is somewhat an excuse since I taking it right now in Summer with my English 100. I basically don't have time for study for Calc while doing essays for English.

I try to apply for TAG program.

What do you guys think?

Honest and sincere answers only please!

How about UCSB?

Answer:I was in a similar situation as you. Actually worse situation, but better GPA. My first year at a community college was terrible. I had multiple F's, C's, and D's. I was pretty much in probation…

It was a wake up call when I was put on academic probation ,and I picked myself up after that and ended up with about a 3.45 GPA. I also didn't do too well in Calculus classes. I had a C in the first one and a B in the second one.

I applied for all the UCs. I didn't get into SB, but I did get into UCSD, UCI, and UCR. I got into Sixth College, which was at the time a new college in UCSD, so I don't know if I got in because they were just trying to accept a lot of students into the new college, but I'm sure a lot of it didn't have anything to do with luck. Also this all happened before the all the economic stuff happened. :)

As long as you write a good essay and show solid progression academically, you might have a good chance at getting in.

You should try to apply for UCI too, they're very well known for their Engineering and Computer Science departments.

Just a note though, UCSD is quarter system, and I didn't work well with quarter systems at all because it was so maddeningly fast, so I actually transferred back out and into Cal State Fullerton and just graduated this May. :)

Good luck!

Answer:With a 3.34, chances don't look that good, I mean have you done any volunteer work or extra curricular activities that can be taken note of?

I want to have homework during the summer?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

It's weird, but I miss doing daily homework that was assigned in school. I think it should be required that students do homework over the summer so they don't forget what they learned from the year before.

Anyone want to assign me homework?

Answer:Go to barnesandnoble.com buy a calculus work/problem solving book that should keep you busy over the summer *laughs evily* *cough* I mean no biggy, aay?

Answer:i think you can get excercises from internet,or books that make you ready for university!

Answer:first assignment, make that into a question….

Answer:^ BAZINGA!

Answer:I feel so sorry for you. The school system has made you a slave to their programs. You have no concept of self-improvement.

This is why the 'homework model' will always fail, because you are doing work to please somebody else when in life you need to do work to further yourself, not please someone else.

So for Pete's sake, disconnect from your wiring, break the school systems mind control, and do what you like doing. Homefun not homework.

Does anyone know where i can get this?

I appreciate all advice given to me :)

Answer:life size scale of the solar system…. it would be a big hit, or you could make a CO2 powered punching bag, and find a way to make that make sense.

another good idea is you could get your hands on some adrenaline shots, and call them "the newest acne treatment" im sure half of your class would sell their left kidney for acne meds right about now.

P.S. beta fish boxing ring…. do it.

What is formal typed work?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

My teacher wants us to put a cover sheet on every formal typed work we turn in but I don't know what formal typed work is.

Answer:It would be your written documents, such as an essay, term paper, thesis, book report, short story, poem.

You want to be sure to have nice margins top, bottom, and sides of your work, indented paragraphs and a blank line between paragraphs, correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. — a perfect visual presentation. She's preparing you for more complex written documents that you will produce later in your school years and work years. Once you're in the habit of producing these basics, you won't be bogged down by them so you can concentrate on the content of more and more complex writings.

Do i get my associates degree?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

if i partake in a 4 year engineering program for my bachelors and complete 2 years of it

Answer:No. If you're enrolled in a school that doesn't offer associates degrees in engineering, and you complete two years of school there, you don't get an associates.

If you go to a school that *does* offer associates degrees in engineering, then even there, you don't get an associates after two years unless you've actually completed the requirements for an associates degree.

Answer:You would achieve an Associate's degree in a 2 year college (community college). If you go directly to a university, then you'd be focused on a Bachelor's degree. The Associates is automatic, so most universities never talk about them. You obtain an A.A. degree with 60 credits of general education courses. Check a local CC for those classes.

LPN or Medical Lab Tech?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

I have been accepted in both programs but don't know what to chose. Which career is worth going for? I'm already a phlebotomist, but I want something more.

Answer:If you're good with people and like that personal touch, go with LPN. If you like knowing about how the human body works through testing blood and other body fluids, then become a lab tech. In other words, no patient contact. If you become an LPN and go on to get your bachelors in nursing, you will make much more than a med tech. However, you will pay malpractice insurance. Med techs don't pay that. If a patient dies because of a lab screwup, the lab director or pathologist goes to court.

Which sentence is correct?

He has recovered from illness.

He recovered from illness.

He is recovered from illness.

Answer:As a single sentence, #1.

It was reported that he suffered from the flu. He has recovered from illness.

As a single sentence, #2.

It was reported that he suffered from the flu. He recovered from illness.

As a single sentence, #3.

He is recovered from illness. I spoke to him today, he appeared healthy.

Notice that all three have more content to put them in proper perspective.
;-)

Answer:1st one

Answer:He recovered from illness.

Answer:None of them are right! The correct way to write it would be:

He has recovered from an illness.

Answer:Sentences one and two are both correct. Sentence one is present, sentence two is past.

I'm really starting to hate it, I don't know why I chose it. I want to go to a different school something local, maybe some kind of adult education at my local highschool. Even if I cannot transfer my credits will my financial aid transfer over? I have already paid close to 10k in financial aid to AIU, but I feel like I'm not really learning anything and advice would be appreciated

Answer:AIU doesn't have the greatest rep, so I'm glad you're asking this question. Do you have a community college near you? That could be a place to transfer to. You can even look at four year colleges, if you'd like – maybe there are some near you that aren't terribly hard to get into.

AIU is not a strong college, but it *is* regionally accredited, which is important, because it means that the credits you've taken there are eligible to transfer to reputable schools. That doesn't mean that all of them will, but that they can. And you can transfer, absolutely!

If you're in a class right now with AIU, finish it. Do *not* let them enroll you for any more. Make sure they don't take those funds. This week, talk to someone at the college you want to go to, and discuss financial aid with them. You can have your FAFSA info sent to them, no problem. The college will then use that info to calculate your financial aid.

Many colleges are still accepting applications for this upcoming fall term. I'd love it if you'd apply to some right now. Check them out – especially the community colleges. You *will* get in there, and they are reputable and inexpensive.

Answer:Even with some type of accreditation, your credits may not transfer to a community college, but you should try. Your FA package will be differrent, and it doesn't "transfer" per se, but depends on the amount of money left at the CC when you apply. I am so sad to see people pay so much for so little at these schools. Hope you can turn it around.

Answer:schools.iblogger.org – it provides info about this school, tips to apply and its scholarships.

GOT THIS OFF A WEBSITE:

R1b (M18) Y-DNA is probably the only connection between the "Druze muslims" of Lebanon and the "Sicilians." This mutation arose in Lebanon and was later spread to Sicily by "Amorite colonizers" from the Lebanese mountain regions.

My mother is Druze (from the mountain). So since Druze and Sicilians share that genetic relation would I be of sicilian heritage? My cousin took a DNA test and oddly it was a different haplogroup =/

Answer:There are probably hundreds of different ethnic/racial groups in Sicilian DNA–it was one of the most conquered/developed islands in the Mediterranean for many years. If you are Druze (muslim is not a genetic quality), your ancestors would have originally come from the "mainland" not from Sicily.

So im goin to a new school?

I am a junior and i am goin to a new school, at my old school i needed 24 credits, and at my new school i need 27??? so yea im pissed how the hell am i supposed to get a extra 3 credits. how does this work?!

Answer:credits are what you need to graduate (obviously). some schools have diffferent ways they score credits. some offer 4 credits for a class and some offer 3 or 2. my sis got 20 in her 1st year, and she needed 44 to graduate. trust me you'll do good. a complete idiot can pass high school if he/she tries. don't stress and good luck B)

Why isn

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Isn't $700-$750 a bit extravagant? I know how the money has to pay for electric, water bills, the proctors and finally the people that own the company, but we shouldn't have to pay since taxpayers' money should go towards that. The classes are in total 40 hours, which means the students' parents pay around $15-20 an hour. I know I'm just a high school kid (going to be a junior), so I don't really understand the big picture, which is why I'm hoping someone could enlighten me. Shouldn't the program be paid for by taxpayers' money? Our money goes towards lots of crappy programs that aren't really necessary for the well-being of the public. I mean like more than half the stuff I am currently learning in high school won't benefit me for the SAT because on the first day of class, we took a practice SAT test, and I received a dismal 1,500…

These classes should be available as electives or extracurricular activities because my assumption is that the majority of students or their parents don't have $700 lying around. Why do we even have to pay a fee just to take a test, i mean really? It's like charging us a fee every two weeks when we have a test over the material we're learning.

Answer:Testmasters and things like that are run by private companies. Private companies are out to make a profit – schools are not. Your public school system is funded by the government, but private companies are not. If you're going to use the services of a private company, you'll have to pay for them. The government will not.

In addition, studies have shown that those types of test prep courses don't, on average, increase SAT scores by much, if at all. Why should the gov't pay for something that's been shown to have no measurable effectiveness? Studies have also shown that students get as much benefit from going through one of the (free at the library) test prep books on their own. The gov't, and your taxes, DO pay for the libraries… so why should they pay for you to take this class?

And the SAT isn't required in order to graduate high school. So why should the gov't pay for you to take the test prep class?

And I would argue that the stuff you learned in HS would benefit you on the SAT. That the only reason why you managed a 1500 at all was because of what you learned in HS. That if you'd taken it on yourself to learn *more* in HS, you'd have scored higher.

What does this quote mean?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

It's a benjamin franklin quote, i have no idea what it means, LOL

"He that blows the coals in quarrels that he has nothing to do with, has no right to complain if the sparks fly in his face."

Thanks in advance! (:

Answer:Don't put your nose where it doesn't belong

Answer:means those that egg arguments on have no right to complain when the the arguments blows up in his face.

Answer:If you stick your nose in someone else's fight, you might get punched in it.

Answer:It means he started a fight he had nothing to do with, and if it comes back to bite him in the ***, he shouldnt complain because he started it,

Answer:I think it means that if you get into someone or something else's business that you shouldn't, you shouldn't complain if they do the same to you… I don't know… Lol. That's what I think it means. :)

Answer:If you don't mind your own ******* business and get involved in other people's affairs, then it

serves you right when you get your *** kicked.

Answer:It means if you butt into someone elses fight and you get punched in the face, you don't have any right to complain because you're the one who butted into other peoples business.

Answer:It means that when you get in other peoples business and u get caught up in it don't complain, cause its your fault you got into their business.

Answer:it means if sum1 fyts about sumin when he doesnt have anything to do with it he has no ryt to complain if he loses or he got hit in the face in the face..xxxxxxxxxxxx

Answer:Well, I'll just break it down to my opinion:

It's an analogy to a burning coal fire. If you blow at a coal fire, sparks will fly up. You may get burned by the sparks.

As it relates to the analogy:

If you blow the coals ( aggravate or contribute to ) of a quarrel ( an argument ) that you have nothing to do with ( that does not effect you and you are only in it for the argument or intervention ) then you can't complain if the sparks fly in your face ( then if by aggravating the argument you get burned by one or both original parties, it's your own fault. )

Short version:

Playing with fire will get you burned.

Answer:It means that you shouldn't get involved in other people's drama. And if you do and end up getting hurt (physically or emotionally), it is your own fault for meddling.

Answer:The quote “He that blows the coals in quarrels he has nothing to do with has no right to complain if the sparks fly in his face,” suggests that if you get into someone else’s business, you may get hurt (physically or emotionally). And if you do, you shouldn’t complain because it’s your own fault. In other words, if you put you nose where it doesn't belong, it may get punched and you cannot complain.

Answer:Mind your own business. If you are unwilling to, then be prepared to accept the consequences.

you'll know when you are in love. being in love is fighting with the person, knowing all their downfalls, seeing them at their worst, and still wanting to spend every second of every day with them..even if it means you have to make huge sacrifices to do so. a crush is..a crush lol. its just thinking someone is cute i suppose.

Answer:Being happy after 55 years of marriage.

Answer:If you have to ask, then its a crush…

Answer:About ten years. I'm not being a smart aleck. You need a certain amount of life and social experience to recognize love and be able to distinguish it from some other emotions. 99.99% of teenagers don't fall in love with the person they'll love for many years simply because they haven't had enough time to have the needed experience. Enjoy the happy feelings, but don't depend on it being love, or acting as if it is, until you've stayed together through at least your sophomore year at college, and your senior year would be better. A teenager is not the person s/he will become, and shouldn't be, so you want to wait until you are that person to be able to recognize your love, who is then also the person s/he will become.

Will I be able to practice NURSING in the UK if I have got a full MEDICAL degree from abroad?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Recently I have received my medical degree and completed my full pre-registration training outside the UK. However, I would like to become a registered nurse instead of a doctor.

Firstly, a Daily Mail article has claimed that staff nurses registered abroad can come into the UK and practice – they don't have to take any tests. Is that correct?

Will I have to study for the full-time 3-year nursing degree in the UK? Or will my medical degree be taken into account?

Answer:You can't train to become a doctor and work as an RN. Nurses and doctors' jobs are not the same. You haven't received the right training to be a nurse. But I wonder… contact some nursing programs near you. Ask them if you can be granted any sort of advanced standing into their nursing program, due to your foreign medical degree.

Keep in mind that not all foreign medical degrees are acceptable in the UK. Those from some countries are not. Is yours okay?

You know… another idea is to see if you can't get into an MS nursing program, with your BS in medicine. That's worth a question.

Answer:Depends on who the BROAD is.

George Washington University Question?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Comparing the location and International Relations programs should I choose Princeton or GWU? GWU is in DC which could be very convenient or Princeton which is in NJ, but guarantees an Ivy League education. Can GWU be better than Princeton?

Answer:Compare the opportunities to do internships, not just courses.

If you interested in working for the government, than GW might be the better choice since you can get direct work experience as a student.

Also lots of college students change their minds about their majors, would you be happy at either school if you realized you wanted to do something else?

Answer:There is no way on earth that GW could be better than Princeton. The connections and prestige you will get from Princeton far outweigh anything that GW could give you. You'd be an idiot not to go to Princeton.

If you do good on the act or sat during sophomore year can you go to college early?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

for example a perfect score or close to it

Answer:it doesn't matter if your score is "perfect" – it just has to be good.

then, if your high school has a dual enrollment program with your local community college, you can take college classes while still in high school.

that's what i did, and it's the only way i know of to go to college "early." i graduated with an AA degree before I technically graduated from high school.

Answer:actually, you can enroll in college without a high school diploma if you are still in high school and your school offers dual enrollment with the local community college. you can also take AP (college-level) courses at a lot of high schools.

Answer:No. You have to have a high school diploma.

Answer:Not really. You may be able to take some college courses through your high school, but you can't enroll in college without a high school diploma. Some students do graduate from high school early, but it would be a real challenge to finish two years early!

I know summer work can be a pain. Just do your work. You're better off in the end, trust me.

Answer:You just get a 0 on the assignment, which is not good. You'll be starting off the school year with an F in your AP class.

Nervous and excited about starting high school?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

So im starting high school soon as a freshman and im a girl. I was just wondering what the differnece is from junior high? and what shoulld I expect during my freshman year

Answer:My sister is also starting HS this year!

Anyways, I'm going to be a junior this year and this is what I think you should know:

1) HS is NOT like middle school

2) In middle school people tend to be/look like each other because they fear not being accepted by their peers, while in HS people pretty much just don't care

3) Get ready to have at least 5 crushes the first month

4) People take sports and student govt. (stugo) more seriously

5) Just relax and be yourself, you are likely to make a TON of new friends who will like the same things you like..etc..etc

6) Enjoy freshman year while you can!

Also, I found this guide. I think it'll give you an idea of what awaits you:

Answer:same as middle school, except with more people and just be cool around everyone ull fit in just fine

Is getting a degree in today

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Considering the average debt some one gets to get a degree when compared with the ***** salaries being offered for entry level graduates with BS's or BA's not in engineering or science (those degrees require einstein like brain power to get), would it be better for some one to just learn a trade or do high paying manual labor? I have 60,000 in loans to get my BS in Aviation management and im not qualified for any job above12 lousy bucks an hour because i have no experience; 12 bucks isn't enough to live on and pay loans. How can you get experience with out a job, a DECENT paying job, keeping in mind college students have to pay back their loans within 6 months?? So with no end in sight to this new Depression, and people with BS's working insulting and degrading, not to mention exploitative minimum wages, is it even worth it to get a degree? Should people with a BS just go on to Grad school and hope to wait out the recession rather than take the insulting Job offers out there? Really, whats the point of a 4 year degree i

Answer:Boy you like to rant….

Thats why you should of gotten an internship to earn the little experience while you went to college.

Answer:Some degrees, yes, if you don't have a specific plan for what you're going to do with it. Other degrees, no, they're almost always useful. You don't have to be a genius to get a degree in science or engineering. Many average IQ people manage it. It's more about how motivated you are than how smart you are. If you're willing to work hard enough, most people can accomplish that. And most people get work experience during their college summers or through a co-op so they can graduate and get a job.

Answer:You definitely need at least a Bachelor's degree these days, and I doubt it'll ever change. College has become the new High School, you need to go in order to be qualified for even the more menial and low-paying jobs. That is how the world works now and many students are choosing to go on to graduate school to become better qualified and to hopefully ride out the recession, myself included. Everyone has to start out small and eventually you will get experience and be better qualified. You can't expect to be paid very much straight out of college anymore, everyone has a college degree and is looking for a job. Don't get too narcissistic and think you are too good for the $12/hr jobs because most recent college grads are lucky to be offered that.

Answer:No because most jobs are asking for college degrees today, and those with high school diplomas are really the ones that are losing their jobs or are behind. In the long run, depending on what you major in, if you have a degree then it is much easier to get a job better than one who has no degree.

Best degrees for today's economy, if you are worried:

Anything in: health, finance, education, accounting, business, law, the sciences, technology/engineering

BTW, don't worry about the economy. Do what you love/are good at, because once you graduate, chances are the economy is gonna pick back up anyway!

Please answer mine:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…

Answer:It depends on the degree and the person, actually. In this day and age, it's getting to where an Associates or Bachelors are more like a high school diploma used to be: the basic requirement. At the wood products mill in my hometown, run by an internationally reputable company, the "broom pusher" employees are required to have at least an Associates degree. My father (who used to be part of management at this wood mill) said that the employers feel that a college degree reflects how dedicated a person is and whether they can work hard to achieve something. It's no easy task to earn even an Associates degree, and in the long run, it opens more doors.

If you want to pursue a trade field, then all the more power to you. Become a journeyman or apprentice for someone and go for it! But if you decide to pursue a higher education, know what you're getting into. There will ALWAYS be economic slumps in EVERYONE'S lifetime; it's just the cycle of the economy. You have to be prepared for it and have a plan for when it happens. And you can't think that a few letters after your name is going to magically open the doors. Even those who want to be Administrative Assistants have to have internships and work experience during college, that's just how things are.

I don't think a Bachelors is worthless, regardless of what it's in- and I can say that because mine is in English! You think YOU'VE got it bad! I went unemployed for half a year and finally got accepted as a Summer Lunch Program Specialist with the Girl Scouts. You are not "above" any wage if you are unemployed, don't kid yourself.

Is it possible to work part time (20 hrs./week) and attend grad school online?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

I was just offered a 20 hours per week job as a Records Clerk at a university and I am thinking about taking 3 courses (9 credits) per semester from now on (until Summer 2011) so I can hurry up and graduate from grad school. Is this wise? Is it possible to work during grad school? My program is online/distance learning and I am majoring in Library & Information Science. Plus, I need the money because I currently am using student loans to live and I can't get a job as a TA or grad assistant because my university is in California and I live in New York. Also, I applied for billions of scholarships but never got any. So what do you think? Any experiences?

Answer:As a undergrad student right now…I would say keep the job, I work during school and as long as you manage time, and know how not to PROCRASTINATE (hard lesson in college) then your pretty much good! But you have been in grad school for a while, so maybe just take the job and if it proves to be too much just quit, I mean you can't stay there for too long!

Answer:You can easily compare info about these schools in this site – schools.iblogger.org

If I major in art, and music, and minor in biology…?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

Soo I'm looking tirades my future, and I was wondering. I'm thinking of majoring in both art and music, then minor in biology. What are some examples of careers I could have with those choices, and how long would it take me until I'd graduate from college from all of it?

Answer:4 years to graduate if done properly. 3 years if you're cool. 4.5- 5 years if you're slow.

You can do nearly nothing with a minor though fyi. Especially biology. You need at least a major in biology to pursue that area such as doing research or going to medical school.

career options for art major depends on what type of art you take. Like, you can do graphic designing as a possible outcome. So then you can work for advertising industries or even movie industries like disney/pixar.

I don't know anything about a music major.

How do you get more smarter over the summer holidays. i want to acheive a good level. ANY ADIVESEEE !?!?!?!?!?

10 POINTS FOR THE BEST ANSWERRRRRR….

Answer:It depends what you mean by smarter. In general, you will get smarter at most subjects (assuming you're in school), by reading.

For English, try reading current affairs, news articles and such. You could also stroll down to the local library and borrow a book once a week (or more frequently), to help improve your vocabulary.

For foreign languages, try online resources (such as online TV in a foreign language, eg France24 for French, as well as websites like Live Mocha to improve vocabulary). I would not recommend buying expensive software, such as Rosetta Stone, as it's quite pricey.

For sciences, the only real option is to read up a lot of materials, such as notes, practice past exam papers. You could always improve your mathematical skills by doing some mental arithmetic more often, rather than using a calculator. Also, Sudoku is a great way to improve your logical skills, as is Chess.

For social sciences, like History/Politics, also read up on current affairs (and political debates from different parties depending on where in the world you live). Or, if you have the funds, organise a trip with some friends or family to a local historic site.

Answer:Well generally doing more learning helps.

Try free online courses. The BBC does online language courses.

Volunteer, even if its only for a day or a week or so…this should help improve your work based and life skills.

For arts stuff do a one week youth theatre,

Try getting to any courses run and organised by your local council. These holidays I am doing some courses with www.futureversity.com (formerly Summer uni) i have done loads before and these have helped my all-round development and helped me learn from others and meet new like-minded people.

Go for it ! :) all the best :)

Increasing SAT score from 2000 to 2200? How can I do this?

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by admin in daono | 0 comments

I had absolutely no trouble bringing my score up to 2000, but I've heard that it's a lot more difficult bringing it up to 2100 . How can I do this?

Answer:It is very difficult to do. The key is practice, practice, practice. Do as many practice questions as you can between now and test day, and then figure out WHY you made the mistakes on your own! Don't rely on someone else's explanations. If you've gotten yourself to 2000, you're sharp enough to correct your own mistakes :) Of course, use only College Board questions (other prep materials are inaccurate). The Blue Book, and the College Board's online course are great resources. You can also find old SAT's online, which are great, too. Try this: http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloa…

You don't mention if you have more trouble on one section or another. For math and writing, just practice. For reading, practice, but also be sure to devote some time to vocabulary. Vocab can be the thing that boosts your reading score. For that, I like http://www.word-nerd.com

Good luck!

Answer:The "SAT self training kit" program at http://www.northstarelearning.com/sat-se… could help you to reach your goal. I took this program and got 2310 for my SAT.

Check it out and it should help. Good luck.

Answer:Have you taken a class yet? Read a prep book? Gotten a tutor? These are the things that you need to do in order to bring your score up.

Keep in mind, though, that your score is already in the top 15%, and it's true that it's very hard to raise your score from 2000 to 2200. If it were easy, then everyone would have high scores and they wouldn't mean anything.

Also, the difference between a good day and a bad day can make a huge difference. Make sure to get a good night's sleep before the test, eat a good breakfast, and try to get anything bad or stressful out of your head.

Good luck!

Answer:it is very easy if you work hard
