I'm really worried about if i can get into MIT. I'm going into my junior year of high school. I have all A's so far, and i take as many honors classes as a i can. Next year i'm taking three AP classes (english, physics, and us history) and i'm going into precalculus. Do i need to double up in math during senior year? I'm part of the robotics club at my school, i'm involved in a college program for math and science, i'm a boy scout (by the time i get into college i should be an eagle scout), and i have been studying martial arts for 10 years, and i've earned a black belt. I help teach classes for some of the younger students. Am i eligible for MIT? I'm interested in science and engineering. What SAT scores should i get? Please help!

Answer:If you keep everything up and get a really, really good SAT score – I'd say you'd have a shot. The only thing with schools like MIT is that it is such a long shot. A person can have a 4.0 and an amazing SAT score and still not get in. (I'm really not trying to discourage you, but it's the truth.) Just make sure you keep everything up and get some great recommendation letters from teachers.

Also make sure that you apply to some other 'backup' colleges in case things don't fall through with MIT.

Good luck!

Answer:There's no "formula" or list of things that will make sure you get into MIT (or any other school). Of course you're eligible, everyone is until they get rejected. However, it sounds like you have a good chance, as long as you stay focused and do the best you can on everything else, including your application. You don't *need* to double up on math, but if you're really interested in it, go for it.

Answer:You've got a shot- getting great SAT/ACT scores would help you a lot, though. Your scores on the SAT2 subject tests in Math Level 2 and the sciences are also a good indicator.

Answer:I know for sure that Cappex.com calculates your chances of getting into a college.

All you have to do is make a profile with your GPA and ACT/SAT scores, then type in a college and click on "will i get in?" or "Chances" and it will show you an admission trend on a graph, showing those who have been accepted, wait listed, denied, or accepted but won't apply.

The website is VERY VERY helpful, I suggest you use it.
