what would be a proper gift for a pre-k teacher? any advice appreciated. thank you!
Answer:When I worked at Head Start, I always liked the heart felt gifts the best. A letter thanking the teacher for all that he/she has done for your child all year goes a long way. If you are looking for something that you can wrap up, I think that counters are always a good route to go. You can find counters at teacher supply stores. They come in a variety of themes. Because counters are small, kids often pocket them and take them home, so we were constantly replacing them.
Gift certificates are always good.
Answer:I got our pre-k teacher a glass apple (didn't cost much – 5$ tops) the year my eldest graduated from pre-k. She put it on her desk and it's still there years later. So think of somethign that might be useful in her classroom. Pretty colored chalk, cute books for the kids etc.
Answer:To be honest, the thing we like best and find most useful is a gift card to the mall or a store….tucked into a card that is signed by the child in their own printing.
Answer:Please think practical. Actually, the best gifts are gift cards to teaching stores or school supply catalogs! Even a store like Target, Wal-mart, Meijer, etc where we can purchase things for our classroom.
Edit: just wanted to add that a home made card (made by the child) are the ones we keep for a LONG time.
We love those kind!
